At
Sirius K9 Training, we like to see every dog have the best home.
Quite often we come across dogs that are in need of a loving home.
Below are a few of the dogs available now for adoption.
URGENT....PLEASE HELP US FIND A HOME!
EDDIE
- MALE GERMAN SHEPHERD
"Eddie" is a large, handsome
2 year old "Special Needs" boy. He was born with a heart condition,
which was not discovered until he was a year old. He is cryptorchid,
but has not been neutered yet due to the risk of surgery. He
needs an echocardiogram to determine what, if anything needs
to be done for him at this point. The funding for the echocardiogram
has been promised and will be paid directly to the veterinarian.
One of the vets says his condition may be managed
with meds, but which one would depend on which part of the
heart was affected.
UPDATE: Echocardiogram performed on
6/16/08 at UC Davis.
Results: Eddie's
echocardiogram showed that his heart has 2 problems, one on the
left, one on the right. On the left, is a mild-moderate sub-aortic
stenosis, (SAS) a narrowing of an artery below the aorta, causing
a thickening of the heart, because it has to work harder to pump
through the narrow artery. The other is a mild-moderate faulty
tri-cuspid valve on the right side of his heart. He doesn't need
medication at this time, and may live quite some time.
Eddie is a very handsome dog, very black & red. He's
probably no more than about 75 pounds, but muscular and plush,
so he looks big.
Eddie is not good with other males, but has been great
with all types of female dogs! He loves to play! Due
to his heart condition, Eddie didn't get out a lot as a youngster.
He needs more socialization and training in an adult home,
and would not be for a first-time GSD owner.
Eddie is in an emergency, temporary boarding
situation!

JANE
- FEMALE GERMAN SHEPHERD
"Jane" is just shy of 6 months
old, this spunky and sweet, little girl needs a commitment
of time and TLC, due to her fear of
men.
A patient, female owner who would be willing to socialize
her and help her reach her potential would be great!
Jane will be medium size, with a huge heart for her new best
friend. She really needs that special someone who will give
her most of their day. Jane is available for a very reasonable
adoption fee.

SAD CASE OF ANIMAL ABUSE NEEDS YOUR HELP!
PIT BULL PUPPY SET ON FIRE IN LANCASTER,
CA.
Abigail's story came to the attention of
Karma Rescue on May 6, 2008 when a horrible story broke on the
local news:
Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to
the scene around 11:30 p.m after receiving a call from a neighbor.
The woman told a camera crew at the scene that she and her stepson
heard horrible yelping sounds, went outside and saw that a dog
had been set ablaze in the front yard of the vacant house next
door.
While totally engulfed in flames, the dog started running in
circles in the street. The woman then ripped off her jacket and
threw it on the dog to put out the flames. The dog, which is
about 1 year old, survived but suffered burns to the head, stomach,
rear right leg and paw.
Deputies took the injured dog to the Los
Angeles County Animal Shelter in Lancaster. Karma Rescue is currently
raising money for her medical bills which are going to be extremely
high due to the severity of her burns and the level of care that
they require. Karma is also taking her out of the shelter and
placing her in a foster home where she can heal in a loving and
warm environment.
Abigail stands not just as a dog, but an
example of the amount of abuse this breed endures. They
can take the pain, and never bat an eye or turn mean...in fact,
after a human set Abigail on fire she still had the need to give
a kiss to the vet tech as she lifted her off the gurney, Abigail
reached around, with burns all over her body, and gave her a
kiss.
Abigail is an incredibly sweet and trusting
girl considering what she has been through. Please help us give
her a second chance.
PLEASE NOTE: 100% of all moneys that
exceed the actual cost for a sponsored animal will be used to
help other dogs in need.
